Now Big Brother has started i have an excuse to work on the website whilst stacey watches that crap. Last night i created a page on how to save money by doing things yourself which also features a link to my first Step By Step DIY instruction page. The first one is how to change rear wheel bearings. I am after som feedback so take a look and let me know what you think, and more importantly if i got it all right.
My Webpage (http://www.landroverace.com/savingmoney.htm)
Also i need more people for the register so if you are interested in signing the Land Rover Register then post your full name, your location, an email address (optional), and the Land Rover vehicle(s) you own.

i just typed all this out and lost it all......now i gotta do it all over again......here goes......
with the brake caliper....i dont disconnect the brake pipe......this will require the brakes to be bled......
you have not mentioned anything about bleeding the brakes......
i simply pull the pads out...or just push them back off the disc then undo the two bolts that hold the caliper on
and slide it off the disc and hang it from the coil spring with a bit of wire.....if it falls it will damage or break
the pipe as it is not strong enough to support the weight of the caliper.....
now...the hub nuts.....
when a new bearing is fitted......the hub nut needs to be done up fairly tight and the hub spun a few times...
this helps to make sure the bearings are seated properly....then it is backed off and tensioned correctly....
to tension or adjust the bearings...the first hub nut is done up just enough to eliminate any freeplay in the bearings....
then the lock washer is fitted and lastly the second hub nut.....this second hub nut is done up pretty tight to stop
the first nut from moving.....and then the edge of the lock washer is bent forward on one side and back on
the other side against one of the flats on each of the hub nuts......this ensures they cant come loose....
the book says to fit a new lock washer every time it is removed....(not that it ever gets done though....)

Sorry. I misunderstood. I didn't realise you were referring to the register page.
Ace, what have you done? None of the menu links on the left work. Ditto for the menu items at the top. They all point to your hard drive.
.... Hang on. I've just worked it out. Ace, the original pages we worked on are OK, it is just the links from the new savingmoney page.
You need to delete the "file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/My%20Documents/landroverace/" from the links

Hi guys, sorry, stacey tidied up the computer and moved everything around, i put it back but it appears a few things dont work, they are all fix now however.
Zook- thanks mate, all fixed let me know if i missed anything else.
I have now added a step by step instruction list with photos on how to modify a brake vacuum advance pump to stop it leaking oil (if it does) and to avoid spending $500 on a new one. Check it out and let me know what you think.
To sign up for the register you can post the details here and i will add them, or you can email me at perkins11@hotmail.com and i will take them from there. Just let me know the following details
1) full name
2) Location- ie- town or suburb and city and the state
3) your email address, if you dont want your email there then leave it out
4) the land rover models you own.
