I have read a few stories of the pivot punching through the pressed metal clutch fork.
With 315,000km on the clock, I thought it would be a good idea to replace the fork while I was replacing the clutch.
The pivot point didn't look badly worn, so I tried to measure how much metal was left.
The fork seems to be about 2.9mm thick and the pivot point was about 1.5mm thick.
On that basis, I figured that if the same rate of wear continued, it should have lasted about another 300,000.
The replacement fork is the reinforced heavy duty one, so it should be good for over 1 million km.
