Not sure where to post this. In the latest issue (256) of Restored Cars, page 12, there is a photo and story about a Series 1 "hulk" sold at a clearing sale at Woomalang in Western Victoria. It is sitting on the ground, no wheels, front left guard missing, bulkhead collapsed, axles and bonnet missing.
The bidding started at $5,000. By $15,000 the crowds started to gather. As the bids surged past $30,000, rumors started that it was full of drugs! Final winning bid was $38,000, PLUS 15% buyers premium, bringing it to $43,700!
Anyone near Newstead in Victoria may want to check with Eddie Ford about it, as he has been around too long to post unproven stories. The poster has listed his email, but if you want to contact him it may be better to go and buy a copy of the magazine.
