Muckatah Victoria to Parkes New South Wales

Hello All,

Is Muckatah in Victoria on any main transport or freight routes which pass through Parkes in New South Wales? Or is any one going that way soon?

I found an old advertisement for some old fashioned caravan equalisers. I have yet to contact to owner to see if they are still available. I just found the ad and it is pretty late to send a text or ring the bloke up.

The next thing would be to get them to Parkes where I am visiting next week. Otherwise, it will be an eight hour round trip for me to pick them up - if they are still available

Only a little off the beaten path - if they could get them to Tocumwal which isn’t far away you could probably organise freight easily enough.

Thank you for the reply and for posting the link. Yes that is exactly the type of unit Gavin. I did not think they were made anymore. I found a site that supplied replacement bows - not the complete unit. Most of the modern units available in the caravan places fit under the draw-bar. I do not have enough ground clearance on my new trailer for this method.

My dad had a set on his trailer. When I bought the trailer off dad it had the brackets still on the draw-bar but none of the bars or the tow-bar hitch. Since dad died I have looked in his shed a couple of times and they are either hiding very - very well somewhere; or he simply got rid of them after I took the trailer up to Queensland. So I am left with one part of bugger-all trailer equaliser kit wise.

Hi mate, sorry for the delay - I’m a bit slow on my feet at the moment after going arse up at work on Friday. I did have a look and I have found a set of bars - but not the exact style shown in the link. I did have a set of those but can’t seem to find them - I may have thrown them out or given them to the FIL. I didn’t find the bracket for the bars though, but I think I have that. I didn’t go through the garage to look for this as I’d been on my feet a bit long and Doctors orders are not to be standing up too much at the moment. Will look when I can if you’re not in a rush.

Sorry mate - I have not been on AULRO until tonight. I missed that you had gone arse-up. Sorry to have missed this.

I contacted the seller about and the full set is still available. I am sure they are exactly the same brand that my dad and brother had. No my brother still wants his set. Just checking with the local freight company first thing tomorrow.

Take time to concentrate on recovering Gavin. Do not worry about risking your health for some bent bits of metal. Take it easy and recover.
