Hi All,

Currently researching the Disco 4 for purchase.

I know this questions has been asked many times but wondering if anyone can point me toward a definitive guide on the Disco 4 versions?

I had thought that the TDV6 was the earlier versions and the SDV6 were later but looking on Carsales now I am seeing TDV6's that are 2014 vintage.

Cheers

Daz.

MY13 onwards, 3.0ltr TDV6 only in base spec, 155Kw 520Nm 8-speed auto,
MY13 onwards, 3.0ltr SDV6 SE and HSE spec, 183Kw 600Nm 8-speed auto.

The engines are mechanically the same, the extra power/torque is from a different ECU tune.

MY14 onwards there was a ‘facelift’, different wing mirrors, badging, headlights, front grill. These will be listed on carsales as a ‘Discovery’ where the preface lift will be as a ‘Discovery 4’.

I once took a screenshot on my phone of a previous post in another thread (can't remember which one) by Bytemark which had this summary:

2009 & 2010 (MY10)
Low Powered: TDV6 (2.7) 140kW 440Nm

High Powered TDV6 (3.0) 180kW 600Nm

2011 & 2012 (MY11 & MY12)
Low Powered: TDV6 (2.7) 140kW 440Nm

High Powered SDV6 (3.0) 180kW 600Nm

2013 onwards (MY13 onwards)
Low Powered: TDV6 (3.0) 155kW 520Nm

High Powered SDV6 (3.0) 180kW 600Nm

Body/External differences and gearbox changes as mentioned by kelvo.

There's also a V6 supercharged version fitted with the 3l Jag V6..250kw. Tho very few were in fact sold due to the diesel providing more torqu and better fuel economy. But..the Jag engine does not require the difficult belt changes which seems to be the reason why some owners bale out at or b 4 160 000 ks.

Diesel engine issues such as turbo failures and even crank big end failures also crop up.

D4 is the last of the traditional chassis design b 4 the car went on a diet and became more if a city bound kids taxi..some say☺

And to add,the 6 speed auto went to and included MY12,all engines.
From MY13,all engines ran the 8 speed auto.
