I have been enjoying working on my new RR and fixing the EAS. I have now got the valve block working well, and replaced the rear bags, and today I am finding it wants to ride around at full extension and I think the orange light on the dash means the computer thinks its stuck on something. Does anyone know what possible causes for this are?

could be the sensors. I believe the computer reads the value's of the sensors and when they detect that the axles are lower than they should, it will inflate the system to the max to force the axles down. It can be a hard problem to diagnose since the potmeters in the sensors are difficult to measure with a digital multimeter. If you have an analog version that would help. Usually it's intermittent contact on one of the potmeters that can cause this. I would check this first.

I had been reading about doing the sensor swap to engage new track, I will try that and see if that works

I found this line here
"VEHICLE JUMPS TO WADE HEIGHT
Check white plug behind Left Front foot well L/H panel for corrosion dampness. This is the
connector from height selector switch to ECU. Also remove delay relay and inspect for dry solder
joints. Check height calibration and ‘incorrect signal’ faults."

Not helped me just yet but I did give the white plug a clean

you can replace the delay relay with a standard "green" type relay and it will work almost the same, the only difference being that the computer wake up to re-level the car every so often will not activate. So to rule out that relay you can use any standard automotive relay in stead if you want to test that.

Yes there is really no point having that auto levelling system other than to save embarrassment of a car sitting in an angle in the morning, but in my case the car wants to constantly go to top setting and cant lower at all

Well, you could try to fake it till you make it :)
Carefully disconnect the arms of the sensors from their respective rubber blocks, I suggest greasing them up with some wd40 or something, and tie them up as if they were in the bottom position. You should be able to read the heights with that tool you got. Hope fully the car will understand the new readings and reset accordingly. This is a bit of a long shot so be careful that the system does not try to inflate the bags even further. Alternatively you can extend the sensor even further but at some point they will go out of range and that should give an error as well. With a bit of luck the car will lower itself to the bumpstops.
Does you tool allow for resetting fault codes? It might be worth a try and even needed I think when you move the EAS system out of sensor range (if my memory serves).
In any case, the eas system only knows that it's stuck from those 4 sensors so that is where to look.

Wow looking at that fault list you have there I would try first clearing fault codes & do fresh setup of the EAS software & re read faults.
If it comes up same try clearing again then remove - refit driver pack & check its connections. Cant see that all sensors are faulty at same time!!
If still same result I would completely dismantle Valve block & check /thoroughly clean everything - replacing all O'rings - be very careful with the ones on the solenoids especially thin ones on stems make sure they are round not crimped & seated properly.
hope this helps.

That fault list was from the EAS free version, since then I have used the proper cable from RSW and V4 software, now after clearing it it does not produce any faults. The suspension is still at its highest and when I click down, it will not lower then the light goes back to the top setting. Also one more thing is the RSW V4 software will not allow de pressurise so probably the v4 software is still not connecting or maybe the driver cant shift the valves, or perhaps its the sensors

This is a good idea, ill have a play around with sensor heights and see if the software is reading them, at the moment I think it is, because it reads about right on bump stops and at full extension

Definitely sounds like something stuck closed in valve block then.. double check NRV valves for scoring on needles. sounding like it wont allow air to release to drop height another check may be exhaust valve.
Good luck.

I put new O rings on the NR valves, but the metal triangle tips are scored, or worn, I dont see how this could affect their function

154604154605154606Going to wade height is usually a sign of a bad driver pack , go through all the other checks first and if it keeps happening often i would change driver pack .

Hey guys my car is currently running 100% and the software is running well also. The problem was as follows. When I first rebuilt the valve block I put a NRV backwards (not sure which one but both front springs on bump stops). While I was sorting out those issues I kept the EAS components in the car separate and not in the EAS box to allow quicker access to components. One last error I made was to analyse all the plugs and incorrectly concluded that land rover had made them all individually keyed. This lead me to fix the EAS except for the fact that the driver pack plugs were switched, the in from CPU was plugged to the solenoids and vice versa. This is the best type of problem as its the easiest to solve and I now have a perfect Pegasus

nice!
Never thought of that, switched plugs... Ah well, you found it!
