Any Ideas/words of Wisdom for 110 drawer setup

Hello all,
Im toying with the idea of some drawers for the back of my 110, they would be aluminium with a 18mm ply top and marine carpet atop. Attached is my currrent plan, but im wondering if anyone has any tips and is it worth the effort? I am also concerned about adding too much weight to the back of the vehicle as I try to travel as light as possible.

One drawer will probably be lighter and have more useable storage space than two - less hardware needed. You can always add a divider.

How do you access the rear storage? Is it open or is it a flat floor?

Why wouldn’t you just have one big drawer for the full length?

Weight is minimised by using 12mm ply for the shelves and not using drawer slides.

This link shows the frame that I secure the fridge to and it also all the electronics for the dual battery setup. I also have a similar frame on the right hand side and find these very handy for securing the above shelf load.

All this gives four levels of loading and makes access to everything easy without the need to unload half the truck to unload something.

The single drawer with dividers is a very good point and I think that may be better. I think a full lenth drawer would be too big though. The ones I've worked out there would be about 1100mm, leaving about 800mm for the rear storage. The rear storage would probably just be a false floor on a hinge.

Drifta has done a bunch of different setups. My personal pick would be the DCBC unit.

Good for inspiration/ideas anyhow!

Regarding whether worth the effort... Personally if I redid my setup I'd probably get a professional to do it just for the quality. At $1400-1600 it seems pretty decent value for a full set up with table etc. But if you're handy on the tools then it'd be a great project.

I would agree that 1100 is about as deep as you would want for a drawer. Does that mean the rear storage is actually in the rear seat area? Or is it a hardtop?

The big benefit to me is its simplicity, its relative lightness and the fact that it doesn’t rattle. Having one big drawer means I can divide it how I like. I made it high enough to stand a bottle jack upright inside but low enough so I can sit the fridge on top and still access it easily without a slide.

The best advice I can give regarding drawers is think about what what you want to carry, measure it all up and work out exactly how you will need to pack it. You can work out the size of the drawers from there.

I had a look at those, Im thinking I may just be better off going with drifta for the price. By the time I got mine done it'd probably still be $800 deep and I don't really have that much time on my hands.

My 110 is configured with 2 seats 2 draws 1100x180 high and a centre lift locker . The drawers have part lamipanel sit on tops make a great benches for cooking on The small side locker is accessed thru cut outs in the top
