G'day all, My drivers seat has had it, and I need to get a retrim kit to fix it. I've seen others here have done this successfully but the only local(ish) supply I can find is Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/EXMOOR-Seat-Trim-Single-BA2401GL/dp/B07FZQP2FQ
Does anyone have any other local suppliers for a kit like this?

Exmoor are very easy to deal with directly and ship quickly. Send them an email, they’ll send you a price including freight to Australia. 👍
There stuff is first rate too. 😊

British Motor Imports in Mulgrave supply Exmoor stuff. Have used them before with no complaints.
It may end up being quicker to go direct to Exmoor as BMI bring it in by the container load.
Cheers,
Jon

The alternatives listed in the above replies should be fine, but think about putting new foams in as well as they are likely about to crumble as well :)

It's the foam, especially in the base that has disintegrated the most. Even though almost 6' I feel like I'm peering over the steering wheel while others have their eyeline about level with the top seat belt anchor bolt.

I just rang Karcraft. They no longer stock Exmoor gear, the reasons being too expensive and orders take too long to appear.

BMI is quoting 6-8 weeks lead time and $275.00 (Amazon is a few dollars dearer)

Have you called or emailed Exmoor directly? From cleared funds I had my order in just over a week IIRC.

Thanks - that’s very different to what I experienced.
Not condoning those actions - I hate it when a supplier doesn’t get back to me.
Maybe try John Rayson - he’s in charge of International Sales, Trade and Technical Enquires- johnr@exmoortrim.co.uk if you are still interested in trying to deal with them direct.

There's also British Auto Parts. Have no idea on stock levels, but the one time I was there when they were called something else in Ballarat(sorry names escape me!) .. they seemed to have lots of trims for Defenders in stock in the showroom.
Sorry not into Defenders, but while waiting for them to bring some bits I needed, you notice what's around you in the showroom .. kind'a thing.
This business was sold a couple years back, and they moved it from Ballarat to Melb(Bayswater) ... and have heard good things about them too.
Never used them tho, other than this one time about 3 years or so ago. I got the exmoor foam insert for my D1, which is a far higher quality than the original foam type too.
may be worth contacting them to see what they have in stock too.

I replaced the seat foams last year and got them from here HOME (http://www.lrparts.com.au/index.html)
Cheaper than getting them from overseas and Karcraft didn’t have any stock at the time

Thanks, but what they supply is NOT produced by Exmoor trim. It's a britpart item.

Correct, Britpart. But my experience of these was they give quite a good result. I cant say that for all britpart stuff I have bought, but these, OK.

When I contacted Exmoor direct they said I would have to use the Australian distributor which I think was BMI

How long ago was that? I bought a new canvas for my 101 a few months back directly from them - sent them an email, they replied and gave me an invoice which I paid and they shipped. Wonder if things have changed?

It would have been about 12 months ago so maybe it’s changed since then or it depends who answers the email

I emailed John Rayson 6 days ago. No reply.......yet, and still no reply to my original email of 12 days ago.
Don.
Edit: This evening I got an email from Exmoor to say that the best price for postage of either one or two kits (Two would fit in the box) is GBP 260.00. Price of the kit(s) is on top.
I had also emailed Paddocks who responded very quickly to say they don't stock/sell retrim kits.
It looks like Amazon's offer is the best at present as it will be delivered to my address.
Thanks for everyone's input.
Don
