Didn't expect this so soon
Not sure if image is legit, could be a render.
Either way, its a Gwagon killer and would be an absolute animal.
Will try and get access to the article tomorrow unless someone else does before.
Loose the 22s though please.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191023/c4c81a4ab70eb588e59b40ec24cb0b49.jpg

So the article does not say much other than to confirm a prototype has been built and it has the BMW 4.4L Twin Turbo V8 and expected to be just a lazy £100k to buy!

Just a lazy £100k to buy!Well done, how did you find, not avail on google app.
Im hoping 20s will fit and all the accesories as per other models, it 100% should be SVX, maybe an SVR as well but SVX like the d5 version first due to the position of the defender in LRs lineup.
Price is speculation.
Render or real deal?

I am excited that I will then be able to buy your new Defender for half what you paid for it [thumbsupbig]

Any guesses on starting price?? If it does materialise, I am putting it at north of 200K

Based on the price for the X ($137k plus on-roads) and that has a "small" 3 litre engine, I think it would be safe to guess $180-200, yea

Who knows 150k would be reasonable, but maybe 175k
Gwagon V8 is like 300k so who knows

I would agree with that.
The Defender V8 70th Anniversary Edition were all pre sold, and they don't come up very often S/H, but I've just seen a S/H unit advertised in the U.K. for two hundred thousand POUNDS!! (But still my favorite Defender)
IMHO, when these "special interest", "limited edition" vehicles get into these stratospheric price ranges, price is simply just not a consideration, the buyers in this range just want one, so they just buy one.

Pickles.Hopefully LR keep the SVX reasonable for the Defender. SVR fpace is 180 from memory. Driven it, its incredible.

I wouldn't be using the F-Pace as a benchmark of what the possible Defender SVX might cost. I think the RR Sport SVR with a $250K starting price is a better pointer. Anything that comes out of SVO is bespoke so IMHO there will be no "keeping it reasonable". That division is about exclusivity and price is what keeps things exclusive. Though, we can live in hope BR[thumbsupbig].

LR is listening no doubt [emoji6]

What's that old line ...? " if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it"

Well, if they do come out with something hot and nasty, wonder if JLR is smart enough to do a very nasty 6x6 like Benz did with Gwagon Perentie replacement. Arabs and Deserts :0)
Cheers

Even if they wanted to I doubt they'd be able to with the monocoque chassis. It'd take some nifty work to extend it and put 3 axles under it.
