Seeking Melbourne gullwing installer.

I am keen on getting a pair of gullwing windows for my TD5 110, possibly CSWs.
Can anyone recommend someone competent at installing these please.

Hi Lou.

I can’t put you on to an installer, but as someone who installed a set of Rough Part Gull wing boxes, and Max Trax carriers, by myself, it really is a simple job.

The best tip I can give you is to go to O’Brien Glass or similar to have the OEM windows removed as they can do it in under 20 minutes.

2 beads of Sikaflex Auto body sealant, mask in place for a few hours and it’s done.

There really isn’t more to it than that.

when?Don't actually have the windows yet. Just doing some research. Have you done these before?
My concern is with removing the stock ones. Apparently the double sided tape used is tenacious.

patients, brute force, some swear words, a little thinners and threats with big hammers usually works.

Removing the original window is definitely the hardest part of the job. They are stuck in with a combination of double sided tape and sealant.
To cut the double sided tape, I’ve used a flexible paint scraper sharpened on one of the side edges. Make sure you mask around the whole window frame to protect the paint.

CSW currently have a lead time of around 10 weeks, so be prepared for quite a wait. I would not expect pre Christmas deliveries for new orders.
I’m waiting on about 8 Gullwings I’ve had on order for various customers for some time.

The Frontrunner Gullwings are also very good, but they are over $300 more per window than the CSW, but they’re usually in stock.
