Hello all,
I’ve recently had the misfortune of a free respray on my 2.4 Puma due to dodgy painters working on a neighbour’s house on a windy day.
The entire car has been hit. Every panel. Every rubber trim. Wipers. Snorkel. Cross bars. Wheel arches. Mirrors. Aluminum trim on windows. Bull bar. Grille. Spotties. Factory chequer plate. And so on. The best bit is that the two numpties who did it then decided to try to remove the paint using Scotchbrite pads and sugar soap. So... most of what I listed above, plus the windscreen and passenger side glass are scratched to buggery.
The paint repair/respray is easy enough. My quandary right now is where on Earth I’m going to find replacement parts for those that have been scratched. And assuming I can find anything, I’ll be chasing the insurer to replace everything, damaged or not, so that it all matches, noting the age and the fading of some parts.
You can just imagine how livid I am. Is this a lost cause, or do you think I’ll be able to bring it back to a decent condition?
Cheers!
