Working on my build .. wanted to reach out to the brains trust.

D240 SE in Pangea Green w. Khaki interior
Active rear diff
Activity Key (I swim a lot and this would be nice)
Tow hitch.

Other options like steps, winch, rack etc will be added over time.

What I'm unsure of is the "downgrade" to 18" wheels (white steel or grey alloy)

These days there is a lot of rubber choices for the 20". I'm not a real hard core off-roader but do like a tough track .. any thoughts?

If you can get the engine you want with 18” wheels then that would be my choice every time.

Agree go 18s if you are getting the D240.

Ill be going 20s and upsize an inch or 2, but will fit 18s if and when they become avail.

Anyone got any word if a specific model will drop in Australia first and if any options delay you getting your car?

For example the first edition first to drop, i believe this is the case in US..they have ordered 500 110s and 500 90s in first edition spec according to the attached.

Privacy Glass?
Heated seats?
Carpet mats?

Also, I'd option the "Off road pack" rather than the rear diff on its own. It is only $642 more than the diff on its own and for that you get the roof rails and the domestic pluck sockets.

The D240 seems to be the most popular choice and will be first (according to dealer).

I’ve ordered a D240 S and apparently this will on the first shipment [emoji2937]

I’m getting blue....

I don't believe I've ever seen such a comprehensive option list on ANY other vehicle.

I originally had privacy glass, solar windscreen and reclining rear seats too .. but had to pare it back a bit as it was getting a bit exey.
My Mrs is quite short and the memory seats in the SE are a big plus for me so I went that way rather than the base or S model with more options ticked .. can always add mats, racks, winch etc later (by stealth of course :) ).

My thought too .. 20" rim with a 33/34" tyre .. hence the dilemma.

Still have fond memories of my '03 Defender extreme with 33" Simex Jungle Trekkers .. was awesome fun in the Vic high country.

Pickles.Pretty impressive, I believe we are in limited options mode at the moment..from march 2020 I think we will have much more choice both in spec and options.

90, P400 PHEV, D300, Commercial & more options, spec early 2020

End 2020 130 release, avail 2021.

Most of that is from the leaked slideshow ages ago, which to date has proved fairly accurate.

Thanks - we are going to be taking 6 months off to go up WA/NT from Xmas 2020 so it’s an exciting defender for a few reasons.

All we’ve done is added the tow pack (for a camper trailer) and optioned 18” wheels. I thought long and hard about steel wheels but in the end like the dark grey 5 spoke alloy design.

All I’ll do initially is add a bike carrier (hopefully attach to the spare Tyre).

Would be nice to know costings on all the accessories. I think the cost of the new defender doesn’t stack up well with every option ticked but does OK with a few choice items.....

With LCT and business tax

Would you leave off all possible dealer fit accessories from factory build invoice to avoid LCT on accessories added?

Or would you add everything you want from day 1, so you are just buying a car?

I originally had ... solar windscreen.. but had to pare it back a bit as it was getting a bit exey.
Living away from the coast I would never buy another vehicle without solar glass after having 2 D2s, a D4 and now a L322 with it.

Actually, my RRC had solar glass but subsequently had a plain windscreen fitted and the heat coming through was immediately noticeable.

After 1600km 1 warranty.

(But remember we have consumer guarantee warranty in AU that supersedes warranty periods )

On 25k of extras thats approx 8k saving

Nice spec.

Not sure what is going on with the Options list though... You've spec'd the Off Road Pack AND the rear diff but the rear diff is part of the off road pack - have you double dipped or is it just an anomaly of the web site - I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't think the dealer is meant to do the after purchase option thing - but if you can get them to do it and not charge you the full LCT price for the options then you're the winner.

I'm excited for you - and just a bit envious [smilebigeye].

Cheers for checking it over, invoice is not double charged but when you click on the off-road pack it automatically selects the separate torque vectoring rear diff lock as well.

After 30 days is fine, just like anyone else getting accessories after they buy, dealer not doing it, I'm doing it, I will be going in, organizing and paying for them at this time, completely legal.

Organizing and paying for it before 30days and getting accesories LCT exempt would probs be illegal.

Here's mine, finally ordered:-

Defender D240 SE
Pangea Green
Khaki interrior
Active rear diff
Tow Hitch
Solar Windscreen
Privacy Glass
60:40 slide/recline rear seats
Activity Key.

FYI: Spoke to the dealer today and he said BEST case will be delivery in June 2020:no2:[bawl]. Seems to be slipping, at least for us. Skeptic in me says high demand in Europe and USA .. maybe China???

BR, forgot to suggest you add the HUD. The HSE is the only spec you can order it for.

We (SWMBO and I) have it on the L494 and we both love it.

I have HUD. main advantage is that it gives your current speed etc right where you are looking, no need to glance down at the dash. I love it too, it would be difficult to convince me to buy a new vehicle without HUD.

This says it all!

Yes you can turn it off but I never would.

I don't know if the Google maps on Android Auto comes up on the HUD (we only just got the Android Auto / Apple CarPlay upgrade at the last service - last week). Certainly the standard nav instructions come up on HUD (turn arrows and things) and I must say the current LR nav is an absolute masterpiece - I don't really see much need to swap over to AA it is that good.

So bottom line is that I love HUD and wouldn't own another car without it (unless it was a Defender SE or below - where you just can't option it). In fact when I do my own Defender build, I always end up going back to the HSE just so I can get HUD and the Matrix LED's - another must have IMHO.
