No doubt we've been here before, but it's always fun to revisit.
If money was no object and you had a ten bay shed to fill, what dreams would grace the man cave? Here's my list.

1: Jaguar XK 120 DHC. (red)
2: 64 1/2 Mustang convertible. (red)
3: Cobra (blue & white, can you get another colour? [biggrin])
4: 59 Star model Customline. (red & white)
5: Tank Fairlane.
6: ZH Fairlane, Marquis or P6 LTD.
7: Early-mid 70s F100. (red)
8: Rover P5. (burgundy)
9: Rover P6. (dark blue or BRG)
10: Land Rover S1, very early model with parking lights on bulkhead.

Whilst the above list could lead to the belief that I'm a one eyed, dyed in the wool Ford fan, that is not the case. I've had a foot in each camp forever.
My choices are not based on mechanical superiority or collectable value, purely what I find astheticly pleasant. As such, the first three are always in that position, but not necessarily in that order. The following seven sometimes get pushed off the list, by other beauties. I really need to save up to expand my imaginary shed.

Give us a peek into your dream shed.

Wow,, almost the same for me,, Go Ford,, but I do like the EH Holdens, so I’ll need an even bigger shed [biggrin] although I’d probably have maybe one or two trucks in there as well.

Apart from the plethora of kit imitations, I didn't know there was an Australian version.
Provided mine has fat wheels, fat white stripes and a Ford V8 playing the tune, i dont mind an authentic copy.

I would hope Ian wants a real AC Cobra not the Oz namesake which is just a tarted up Falcon for a sales campaign to trap Bogan's money.

My shed would have a Plymouth Superbird Hemi. A Kurtis Kraft KK500S with big Offy up front. A 50's GMC pickup repowered with a GMC 492 V6. Two or three big American classics from the 30's with V12 or V16's. Something like Pierce-Arrow, Packard, Cadillac, Marmon, Peerless. A real Maserati 250F for some historic racing. For masochism a Bugatti probably a 51 or 51A and an early 50's Ferrari. The latter two should give sufficient grief and pain to bring one back to earth. A Harley Davidson Service Car. They don't fall over and I just like them. Acquiring all these would destroy most of a good sized Gold Lotto first division.

I would have to say that is where Bolwell started to loose the plot after the successful Nagari. Reminded more of a old style Chatham 7 rather than a modern sports car - guess I was hoping for a more modern development of the Nagari.

I dunno about that Wolseley though, SWMBO had one for her first car and I got to get it registered. Driving it from Narromine to Warren with a blue slip in hand it was the only vehicle I've ever done 100KM/H in with all the windows down and not a breath of disturbed air in the cab, most unpleasant on a 35 degree day. It ended up as a bash car owned by a bloke in Newcastle. It didn't have any wood trim though and was the four cylinder 15/60 from memory.

N12 or N14? I reckon the 855 cu in Cummins was the best ever built. I particularly enjoyed the fina iteration, N14PLUS at 525 horsepower. At its limits of development there, it showed how well the original 220 horsepower was engineered albeit they shared virtually no parts.

If I could squeeze one car in,and build a barrier around it so it wouldn’t get damaged it would be either a ‘78 or ‘79 A9X,or the last of the 4 door Monaro I think they were, with the gold honeycomb wheels, either HX or HZ.or it could have been GTS.

I don't think there was a four door version. Those wheels were exclusive to the LE.

Yes you are correct,not a Monaro,just an LE,only 2 door.

When we lived at Waterford, the guy across the road had a HQ two door, immaculate, original, pressed metal wheels,V8,4 speed, white.

Wouldn’t let his wife wash it,yet alone drive it[biggrin]

Funny thing though he was a brickie, sold the V8 one tonner, all brickies had in those days.
Replaced it with a 130 TDi.[bighmmm]
He also used to tow this huge 4 wheeled trailer around most days.

Anyway, fuel bill dropped to a third of what it was,but as he said every move driving had to be well planned way ahead,as the bloody thing couldn’t pull the skin off rice pudding[biggrin]

Last time I saw him he was on Moreton island having a ball in it.

Its interesting to contrast the difference between the LE and the Cobra, both were marketing specials to unload the remainder of Holden and Fords stock of two door bodyshells. The Cobra is instantly recoginisable and brings stupid money, probably due to being assiciated with Bathurst, but the LE took a different route and went with luxury as the bait and wasn't (and isnt) such a good seller. Most of those LEs in the carsales link above represent pretty good value IMHO.

Tote

No, they were available with both a 351 and a 302, manual and auto. there were a small batch of 351 manuals that had a few extra mods such as kicked inwards rear frame rails to allow race tyres to be fitted but it was a very small number I believe.

I couldn't enjoy most of the cars you guys have listed. They are so prized and worth so much money you could never drive and enjoy them (certainly it would be bloody difficult to stop them being stolen). I'm pretty happy with the ****boxes I have at the moment. I have a few old (real) Citroens and a range rover classic.

Muscle cars I couldn't drive in this country without going insane (as you can't use the power). A big old american cruiser would be bloody hideous but heaps of fun.

There is so many fun cars I could own ... but realistically I don't have the time to work on the car I have right now. I haven't driven one of the Citroens in 8months.... and probably wont until the ****box rangie breaks down (at which point I'll be in the shed at 3:00am desperately trying to get one of the citroens running again)..... They all run and drive, but need a million and one minor (aggravating) jobs done to them --lots of split/old return lines and suspension boots.

No, that one should've been kept I reckon.

I saw Peter Briggs punting his around York, WA in the mid '80's. It was belching smoke, spewing oil, and making a helluva noise.. Apparently the fuel use was even worse than....well.. just about anything really and the oil leaks would put any LR to shame.[bigsmile] It can be seen in this article about the York Motor Museum. I think the genuine Cobras were only available with a three oh two.

If you are referring to the Falcon Cobra, first 200 were 351, second 200 were 302. Two engine exceptions, number 1 was a 302 and number 351 was a 351. One paint exception was number 209 which was reversed colour.
Numbers 2-31 were " Bathurst specials". The was also about 10 pre-production Cobras that were in plain colours.

MJSBwahaha, fair enough.

That old pile of crap taught me so much.
Every apprentice before me had tried to destroy it, I think it was on its third engine by the time I got to it but it just kept going.
I learnt what understeer was, chronic overseer and often both at the same time!
Twin leading shoe front brakes were good for exactly three quick stops, so I learnt all about scrubbing speed by sliding going into a corner and carrying corner speed and momentum and limits of adhesion, which luckily are pretty low.

And I put it into a dirt bank the day I got my licence, but luckily the valence panel was already bent and buckled so dear old dad never knew!

I raced an old fella in an E38 once.
He loved it!

He'd fly past me on the short straights (the Gt Western Hwy heading west when it was getting rebuilt around Prospect) and I'd fly under him sideways under brakes, mainly as I had none!!

One of my mates had the crown sedan. What a ****box it was, every panel had a dent in it.It looked like it had just finished the round Australia rally.

We were both Fridgie apprentices at the time.

One night out late somehow we collected someones letterbox.

Three months later we had the arse jacked up with a forklift,to replace a shagged rear diff, and we found the letterbox still jammed up under the car with some mail in it.

Geez,those were the days[bighmmm][thumbsupbig]

Pickles, me ol' mate, my Dad had an earlier model. A single spinner with the side banger eight. My recollection is sketchy due to my age and naivety at the time.
Unreal. I never owned a Single Spinner, but I did own a Twin Spinner. Original black, brown leather interior, 100% original, 60K miles, chauffeur driven car owned by Mrs Henderson of Henderson Springs, bought it from them, I was the 2nd owner,.....and yes, I did fit dual exhausts, built & fitted by Graham Facey, the best "manifold" man in Vic, later retained by HRT.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS loved my V8s,.....ALWAYS will,.....still oown one!!

I've never really stopped to have a think about my dream garage, but heres a few cars from the years that I've liked for one reason or another:
LJ Torana - 2 door (ok, so I've already owned one, but given the chance I'd own another)
HK 327 Monaro
XA Falcon coupe
1963 Corvette Stingray (split rear window - 63 was the only year for these)
Split window Kombi
Dodge Charger Daytona or Plymouth Superbird
1996 Dodge Viper GTS
22B Subaru WRX STI
1997 BMW M3
Audi RS4 B4 Avant
1993 Corvette ZR1 (I'd also accept a Callaway Corvette Sledgehammer)

Looking at that list its a nice mix of old classic and modern classic.

Most of you guys seem to like performance.... I just saw the jay leno episode on the latest corvette.... that bloody thing is a mid-engined supercar and is selling for $60,000usd. Unbelievable. They must be loosing a bucketload on every car. Its going to be sold in Australia as a RHD as well.

More likely just not making the obscene mark-ups that are only many if not most vehicles.

I owned a VN GroupA, & I knew the person who owned the only white one at one stage. I believe that vehicle is now fully restored, but I don't think it's white any more.
560SEC=GREAT vehicle, I'd love one, but it'd have to be a good one, anything less could/would be a very expensive exercise!

Speaking of Stainless cars....

This happened last night - Delivery 2021 (yes 2021).

Tri-motor, 800km range.

I think a wrap would look good on it.
