Can anyone recommend a supplier/installer to replace a worn steering box in South Australia. Adelaid/Murray Bridge area. My Dad now has my old RR and wants to replace the steering box as it is fairly worn. Quotes so far have been around $1000 which I reckon is a bit steep.
If I was there I would do it for him.
Can not remember if it is a 3 or 4 bolt. I believe that they are interchangeable anyway, is that correct.
There is one of each on e bay in Sydney for $450 which is about right for a rebuilt unit??
Thanks

I'm not sure how competitive they are on labour price (I think they are around $75 an hour from memory) but Soveriegn Motors (just off Hutt St in Adelaide) always manage to get me reasonably priced parts. Sometimes they will recommend using genuine, sometimes they say genuine is overpriced and suggest an equivalent non-genuine.

If you are looking for a 2nd hand steering box, you might try TRS (Triumph Rover Spares) down Lonsdale way. I've only been there once but they had a whole lot of wrecked vehicles in their yard.
