People are too bloody weird. If he **** it out onto a canvas , someone will probably buy that as art too .

You are dead right. Andy Warhol made a living taking the mickey out of people with his 'art'. Campbells soup can anyone...?

Almost like they are living in a parallel universe, out of touch with reality. Funny thing about it , the bloke who bought it had to replace the banana each time it went over ripe. I've got some over ripe limes in my fruit bowl must be worth a few grand. Might set it up outside the Qld art gallery, probably get a scholarship.

All art is all about eliciting a reaction, an emotional response so I reckon it succeeded. [emoji6]

So if I was to kick someone in the nuts I would be an "Artist", Because that would certainly create an emotional reaction and an emotional response [bigwhistle]

To quote Letterman "This is why the rest of the world hates us".

What's really funny is that the banana was eaten a second time, and someone wrote "Epstein didn't kill himself" over the top of it in lipstick. The guy was arrested and the security guards put a cloth over the graffiti. The artist put up another banana and gave the new owner a 'certificate of authenticity' in case it happened again. This is just getting ever more weird!

Another of life's mysteries to be anguished over. Who put the cowboy hats on the pigeons in Las Vegas?

My first degree was in Fine Arts and I worked as a curator - the issue with modern art is that in the old days a painter was (often) judged by how accurately they could depict real life: but what value is that when photographs came along? Hence art became more about ideas, and (often) being outrageous.

And you guys are predictably outraged.

But this is also art, and maybe it meets with your approval?

I understand a little more now than a few years ago. For example, I understand a bit more about the hub for artistic people in the Sandgate area, a little shop called artrageous. They cater for the artistic, the socially challenged, even the homeless. A place where all sorts can come together in the name of art. Also, I am doing penance for insisting on watching the cricket on TV. My wife is watching a show called " project Runway ", currently " project runway all stars ". A few years ago I would never had watched a show about random gay men designing clothing. But I actually get it. I find the World of fashion , although a little bit out there, interesting. The people I still consider weird, but I understand their weirdness a bit more now. It's made me a little less judgemental , a little more open minded. All I can say is, the Aussies better beat the Kiwi's , in the cricket.
