Greetings all,
I have done a rebuild on my 2.2 PUMA after holing a piston,
I have noticed oil leaking from the underside of the inlet manifold near the EGR valve, the reason for the oil is when you hole a piston engine oil gets into the air intake and intercooler.
I did not take out the intercooler and clean it.
The oil is definately coming out of the inlet manifold as I have checked the rocker cover gasket and when you run your fingers along the bottom of the manifold, you get oil on them.
Also when driving under load, I get the same sound as a cracked intercooler hose.

Has anyone replaced their inlet manifold due to a crack? I between the manifold is two pieces that are vibration welded.

Yes have replaced a couple of inlet manifolds on the 2.2, just replace it and roll again, doesnt happen enough to be called a "issue"

Thanks Guys....I thought it was just me who has found a cracked one.....you can hear the air escaping under full throttle, but no engine ECU faults like a blown intercooler hose of cracked intercooler as the sensors are before the manifold crack so they won't pick up any pressure differential.

Do you fit a new manifold supplied by Land Rover or supplied from Ford...being a ford motor?

I don't know, it's likely the same, I get land rover spec'd ones, but like a lot of engine parts there is no land rover logo on it, its FoMoCo
