JS Asakashi Filters / Brintech Filters
Any one used JS Asakashi Filters in their 2.7 TDV6 Discovery 4s? Supposed one of the best filter makers in the world (Japan). Significantly cheaper than most LR variants by a long way. After feedback on quality etc.$80 plus dollars for an air filter from Ryco / Westfil / LR etc is a bit excessive (geez K&N are only that price). Can get 5 JS Asakashi filters for that price, similar with oil filters. Similar in Brintech branded air filters around 4 for same price. Truck parts shop I use can supply these filters and apparently widely used in truck applications. Especially as I will be doing oil and filter changes at more like 10-12, 000kms as opposed to the scheduled 24,000kms intervals.
Please dont just state OEM are better, we all know that can be BS as have TD5 filters been proven, but if you have technical specs regarding the 2 brands above compared to big name brands any factual comparisons would be appreciated.
Cheers
Craig

Never heard of them?

Isuzurover is the one to ask.
You'll find him quickly on the HMLR page on FB, or you could PM him?

Ben would probably say stick with Mann, he's said in the past that M-H, Cummins-Fleetguard and Donaldson's R&D budgets dwarf the sales figures of smaller players.

Yeah I hadnt either and why I am asking. They are via a truck supplier and apparently widely used in trucks. The price for Ryco and even Repco filters is just insane $70-$93 for an air filter. I will get one this weekend to get me through as Repco have 30% off for car club members, only way it is worth it. But looking at options long term.
Cheers

Craig, a little digging and it looks like these are made by the same company that makes Sakura Filters in Indonesia. [emoji6]
