Trailor plug wiring

I just bought a tow bar and tongue off of a wreck from British Offroad ($247.50 delivered to my door). Now my problem is, it didn't come with the standard wiring loom you get when you buy the tow pack from the stealer (almost $1500 just for the tow bar and they wanted another $190 for the tongue and loom). I have rung all over Queensland trying to get one, but the loom can not be purchased on it's own.

I would imagine if the trailor plug is wired into the tail lights of my disco, the trailor light check system, will not work as it's supposed to. Is this correct?

Does anyone know of anyone who makes these looms and can be purchased on it's own?

Hey Dude. I think the best way will be to look at a D2 with a tow bar and follow the wiring and see how it connects into the vehicle wiring. Most likely, there will already be a connector in the back of the car where this "loom" plugs into. Then you just have to either get a mate for this plug, or cut it off and terminate your own in its place.

It aint rocket science.

there should be a plug behind the right hand rear tail light assembly somewhere....
if you get down underneath and look up into the rear guard....you should see a connector
just dangling or taped to the harness......most probably with a dust cap over it.....
just splice your wiring into this loom and save $190 for fuel......

As above, its behind the RH rear tail lamp assembly. Just tap into them and it all works fine.

Just 1 more thing if you use the new style LED lights on your trailer they dont draw enough load to register on your trailer flasher indicator on your dash lights.
