I’m struggling with my Disco’s auto park feature. It does not seem to work as expected in the sense that when I stop the car to engage R, it no longer detects the space. This is because the car asks me to stop when I’m actually sitting parallel to the space and, therefore, it would never work.
What’s everybody’s experience with their Discos?

I had a small play with it when taking an overnight test drive, it worked on a kerb-side parking attempt on the street one evening, and i tried messing around with it in the work carpark and it wouldnt work. I tried it at the dealer and again, it didnt work. the sales guy tried it and he said its a finicky gimmick and gave up on it also.
i might have gotten lucky with my kerbside attempt that one time, sad to say.
it does require a lot of room to manoeuvre during auto park, rear to kerb is the hardest to get to work, in my limited experience.
i'll report back when i receive delivery of my car in late march.

I tried it 3 or 4 times in my mates new D5 and it impressively parked rear parallel to the kerb 3 times and also did a 90-degree to the kerb park but on every single occasion would have crashed into the car in front in trying to get out so I guess they got a half right. Tis all a bit disconcerting though.[emoji3064][emoji107]

Mine is a RRS so might be different. I find you have to follow the instructions exactly or it is disabled. When I do that it works very well.

It's a bit like autoland in an aeroplane. Really weird, but you just have to trust it...

But if it doesn’t work for you it’s a little more serious than a ding in someone’s fender I suppose. [emoji16]
