After years away from bikes, i got a cheap hyo gt650. A few years putting up with its questionable buld quality and its time for an upgrade. A recent Work injury (broken vertabrae) didnt work too well with the clipon bars either.

Was pretty keen on v-strom, but a mate offered me his FZS1000 for a week, and would sell for a good price if i liked it. It seemed to like it at my place and decided to stay.

The hyo went to a new owner, and i see it as iv upgrade brakes, suspension, chassis, ride comfort for $300, the 145hp is a nice bonus too.

My only advice would be to ease back into it, so no tear arsing about till you're able too, alright!!!!

It's a big issue nowadays when guys get back into bikes after years away and they still think they're as good as they used to be when they stopped, so having been in this situation myself not that long ago I know how tempting it is to just go out and try to go fast again and keep up with the pack.

Now that's out of the way, nice bike and sounds like you got a good deal, looks very similar to the Suzuki Bandit, what sort of riding will you be doing, day rides, weekends, track days???

Baz.

Not a fast rider by any means. 50k ride to work sometimes (inc 10 of dirt), day rides and occasional nite away. Happy to sit closer to the speed limit these days [emoji56]
