Series 2A Engine Number

Hello All,

I was doing some work on my 2A Army Ambulance today and I took a photograph of some numbers on the passenger side of the engine block. Is this the engine number? The number is 515957K with a line under that with FF2

I checked the http://www.remlr.com/ Engine Number for ARN 112-211 was 25135684C.

If the number in the photograph is not the engine number - where would it be located. I have Series III s and there engine number is up towards the top of the motor.

That is a cast in number and therefore not the engine number. It should be on the left side just under the manifold IIRC

No that is not the engine number.

If you are talking about a two and a quarter engine (four cylinder) the engine number is at the very front left hand side of the engine block, on a "vertical" flat section, directly below the front bottom exhaust manifold stud. Just behind the water pump housing.
The engine number will be arranged vertically.
