G'day All,
I have done a search and failed to find anything about Rated Recovery Points for 2004 Range Rover. Does anyone on the forum sell them or know where I can purchase a pair for the front in particular?
Thanks for your time and hope you all have a SAFE and Very Merry Christmas.
Cheers

+1 for this for the front, I've read reports of people just using the tow eye but rave states its only for 'on road recovery'.
If you have the tow receiver in the rear you can just use something like this:
Kings Hitch Receiver and Bow Shackle | Turn Your Tow bar Into a Recovery Point - 4WD Supacentre (https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/adventure-kings-hitch-receiver-and-bow-shackle.html)

From my MY12 owners manual...
FRONT AND REAR TOWING EYES
The towing eyes at the front and rear
of the vehicle are designed for
on-road recovery only. If they are used
for any other purpose, it may result in
vehicle damage and serious injury.
Remove the front towing eye cover
before driving off-road, to prevent
damage or loss.
OFF-ROAD RECOVERY
If the towing eyes are to be used for
off-road recovery, it is essential that
off-road driver training covering
recovery techniques is undertaken.

My 04 book states pretty much the same. I have the solid block and D shackle for the back but I can't find anything for the front. Hence the question.

I used mine's front hook with a gentle snatch, as snatches should be.

You're not always in control of how you are snatched, I'll wait a little longer and see if some one has more info.

You should be! My recovery was done after my explicit requirements were expressed which didn't compromise the tug owner's requirements as we both would only participate in a gentle tug.

G'day All,
I have had some good news, a video on Youtube from Harry's Garage, review on the L322 states in his video that the front hook is rated at 7 tonne so that seems fine for snatching and being snatched to me. Any thoughts to the contrary?
Cheers

I've been snatched and winched by the front recovery point several times without issue in sand and mud. For the rear I use a recovery point fitted into the factory Tow Bar holder, and have snatch recovered others with this.
When I bought my then new 2008 RRS, I noticed the same "only for road use" legalese in the owners manual and wrote to Land Rover Australia before I took it off road in the first 3 months of ownership as I didn't ant to void warranty. They forwarded me details by email from their technical department of the load ratings and recovery use using 'energy rope' (as they called it) for the RRS.. I still have the email somewhere in my inbox. I haven't chased the L322 specs but with some confidence assumed the same here that its safe for off road recovery...

So what load rating did they give the RRS?

+1 I'd love to see this. D3 and RRS structure in this area is, I believe, identical so should be rated similarly. I thought the D3 was rated to 6t?
