Would anyone know if a winch can be fitted to this style of bullbar? I was wondering if a discrete mount would work.

Looks like the factory alloy bar which isn't winch compatible, not sure if a discrete mount would work with it.

Any idea if they’re a descent bar or not?

Is that for going down a hill?

Hi John

Obviously they are better than nothing, however they sit very close to the body and their design and materials means a moderately sized Roo can push them back into the body.

I’ve seen one painted black and it looked ok, in their polished finish they look pretty horrendous on the D4.

Agreed I’m pretty sure that they’re not as tough as a 3-5mm thick steel bar but I really don’t do that much night driving at all. I live in metro, even when we’re travelling we try not to drive at night. I do like the look of the standard (non bullbar) D4 and really only need something to hang a spotlight and uhf antenna... and a winch

Plus the new arb suits quite close anyway

Having taken a few hits on the ARB on ours - including one at well, let’s say close to 100 in the old language, and not a single bit of movement, I’m confident the ARB doesn’t suffer the same issues [emoji41]

Seriously- for your needs look at the Prospeed mount with the extra hoop at the top. Will look great and do everything you’re wanting.

You can easily fit spotlights using brackets through the grill. UHF aerial can be mounted to the bonnet or roof.
Various winch mounts are available, some with more features and better design and some cheaper ones too.

All fair points. I had already considered your suggestion Tombie. I only discovered the prospeed option a week ago
