Hi All,
I have a Fairey Capstan winch lurking in my shed, it was fitted to a 4cyl and wondering if anyone can tell me if it will also fit up to a 6 cylinder LR engine? I'm assuming that the only difference might be the length of the shaft between the winch and the crankshaft pulley on the engine. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks,
joe

I am pretty certain the front of the engine is in very close to the same position as the four. If this is the case the only issue* will be the special dog on the crankshaft pulley. I'm not sure whether it is interchangeable with the four.
* With the later setup. There are two setups - earlier, which I have encountered on Series 1 & 2, which has a 3-pin dog, with the shaft sliding in a bearing carried on brackets on the front of the engine, and the later one where the shaft is carried in a bearing on a hinged bracket attached to the crossmember with a two pin dog, listed for 2a and 3.
