Hello All,

I was removing the tail shaft from one of my Series spare parts vehicles; it is either a 2 or a 2A, and I noticed a pump looking device on the front of the rear differential. Driver's side.

Can anyone identify what this device is? Also, what would it be used for?

I checked my two other 2A's and they do not have such a device fitted to them.

Kind regards
Lionel

Maxi Drive air locker actuator............... noice!!

Hopefully the dog clutch, etc are still inside the diff housing with a pair of HD axles.

Got pics of the drive flanges on the ends of the diff?. Hex nut with MD engraved?

Hello DL,

Thanks for identifying the lump on the differential. I was aiming at extracting the gear box today and was only removing the tail shaft to get some more wriggle room. I will have to look at the differential tomorrow. Thanks for the tip DL.

Kind regards
Lionel
