Having sold the Series 2 HSE manual, I have now picked up my HSE TDV6, plated April 2006. (It did 2,500km in the first two weeks at 8.6 litre per 100km including 800km of running in under about 90km). I thought that the TD5 was good, this thing is amazing. So smooth and just flows with the 6 speed box.
Bonatti grey, auto, alpine roof, etc and getting an ECB powder coated black bull bar next week. Not a lot of room for phone kit, UHF and trailer brakes, but they are all in. It has roof rails and will probably get a set of Rhino racks and an aluminimum roof rack.
Are these roof fittings ok?

Yea Bob, they are pretty amazing. I have done nearly 7000 k's now and the fuel economy is getting better and better. Travelled from Mackay to Townsville last week at just under 110 and got 8.7 litres/ 100km.

Hope you enjoy it.
Regards, Barry.

Oh my God the forum is being taken over by D3 drivers !!!!

Glad you're enjoying the car mate. I reckon a TDV6 transplant into my Rangie would be the go !

I was talking to the Bundaberg dealer this week and he said that if you fit a non factory bull bar, LR will void all warranty claims.

I don't believe him but it may mean prople are up for a fight

Thanks for all the nice comments. Pics in a few days, perhaps after the Bull bar goes on. My original question was on the Rhino gear - I think that it is pretty good stuff. Does anyone know? This will be about $920.00. I can buy a L/rover roof rack (which I am told is nothing flash) for get this... + $1,900.00! My last disco 2 had side steps (after market) for $650 powder coated black - Land Rover wanted $1,400.00 for theirs.

I've had Rhino gear for a few years now on the Defender and had no problems with it at all, and I like the fact that every 4x4 shop stocks it.

I fitted rack to my Diso 3. All up it cost me about $100. I bought 1.6m Rhino rack track and fitted that to the M6 mounts in the roof under the existing cover track. I then took my old Rhino racks and adjusted them to the new size and then made new mounts to my old TJM roof rack and am now very happy with the setup. LandRover wanted $895 for the track and $565 for 2 roof bars.

You know with the rhino gear that you will have no issues getting parts for this reason as well

Don't tell my Dealer that.

No probs with warranty claims with the BB on my D3. Then again nothing was related to the BB anyway. I'm sure they will refuse if it had anything to do with the BB.
