A new one for fridgies

I'm trying to commission a new a/c system in my RRC and when it was given to shop they couldn't get R134a into high pressure side. This is brand new never used system first time to attempt charge. It's a vintage air gen11 unit with York compressor brand new old stock with vintage air condenser. I've got electric fans with a trinary switch. I've found two things - I had condenser in upside down yeah I know my bad so had Lp side on bottom. And I think the new trinary switch "which has build date 2013" may also be no good. It's open circuit at all times on all circuits I thought the hp side should be closed circuit. So - if the trinary switch was u/s would that prevent hp side of circuit charging? Or is it simply because the condenser was upside down?

Naa, you have a blockage of some description, probably in the service valve itself.
I'd remove the Schrader core in the high side fitting.
Are there any other service ports in the high side?
E.g.. On the drier or in the liquid line?

Thanks I found the problem myself today. There's the original valves/gauge ports on suction/discharge ports of the compressor. To make access easier I'd fitted Schroder valves on low and High pressure hoses. But- the A/C "experts" I'd given car to forgot about these valves which were in closed position and tried to charge unit with both valves closed. That's never going to work. I suspect they didn't know what they were. Needless to say going elsewhere Monday [emoji106]

These valves I suspect they're not common anymore.

Standard Rotolock service valve.
Still in common usage and used on new compressors, just not automotive.

Not as common as they used to be in auto air,but everywhere else there are literally millions of them.

I keep wearing my ratchets out on them.[biggrin]

Yeah well they completely missed them and they are in plain sight 100mm lower down from the connections in hoses. What to say lah?
