I just spent a week touring around Tassie on a "Gentleman's Trip" with a group of blokes on adventure bikes as they are commonly called today. Six bikes in all, a KTM 790, Honda Africa Twin 1000, Yamaha Tenere 1200, and three KTM 1090's, along with a Dodge Ram 1500 as the back-up vehicle which i drove. Where possible we traveled bush tracks and kept the black top touring to a minimum, but stayed in Pubs and Motels etc.
I could not believe the amount motorcycles on the boat going over/back, and the amount of bikes touring the Isle, Tassie is an absolute "Mecca" for motorcyclists at this time of year, and motorcycle tourism must inject a lot of dollars into their economy.
If your into motorcycling and as yet haven't toured Tassie, put it on your bucket list, it's well worth it.
Cheers, Mick.

Think I saw that magnificent Africa Twin last week in the south.
I agree, every time I drive the East coast I think I should be on 2 wheels, not 4, as much as i love the Rangie.

Wow, that’s a surprising amount of bikes.

Number! Not amount.
Amount is used for things that can't be counted.

That's a lot of bikes on the ferry:whistling:
6 bikes would be a perfect number on a trip like that.
Hope to do Tassie soon, have already been there just not on a bike, can't wait.

You wouldn't believe it but there was another group with a similar livery to ours, a Honda Africa Twill 1000, a Tenere 1200,
several KTM 1090's, plus they had a few extras with a Triumph and a handful of BMW's.
Cheers, Mick.

Looking at that photo you would not be able to count all the bikes to get a number, obfuscation Ron. Therefor Amount used in the correctly way [biggrin] I have left a subtle grammar error for you to correct.
