Hi! Looking for some collective wisdom on what direction to go for a future purchase.
I sold a high-ish km 2008 2.7tdv6 last year that was a bit troublesome, and now looking to get back into another Sport but, thinking about the petrol varieties this time around. I like the idea of the updated Sport, which means I would be considering the 5.0 lt. What's the current thought on these engines? I know they have trouble with timing chain guides/tensioners etc., but what else? Is there any reason to stay away from super-charged varieties?
As for the 4.4/4.2lt engine; are they easier to live with than the later equivalents? Obviously there is step backwards regarding the rest of the car (mostly interior I guess) so, the lower purchase prices can potentially even the playing field for me in that area.
Cheers for any insight!
