Just got back from my Doctors appointment and he is really concerned that I am not exposed to the outside world with my MSA illness under the current environment. He has advised me to stay home avoid public places like shops etc and to not have visitors. Any further appointments with him will be done in the car I am inside and in the car park of the surgery. He does not want to risk me being exposed to other patients in the waiting room. He has told me as I am high risk and it could lead to an infection resulting in pneumonia.

I'm so sick of the hysterical bull**** in the media. if you have any sort of lung condition, the corona virus will be extraordinarily bad for you to get. The average healthy person seems almost un-affected by it. The hysterical bull**** in the media about cases of the virus being found is just that. There will be bloody thousands ... probably tens of thousands of people with it. but there symptoms are so minor ... they don't realise. So why would they ever be tested for it (so know they have it).
The boss women told me the other night, the reason for shutting down schools and all the other bull**** is to slow the spread of the virus. The majority will still get it, but it will ease the burden on the hospital infrastructure .... as everyone will not be getting it in the same tiny time frame.
Imagine if a really bad virus long incubation period ever took hold that would making healthy people sick/dead..... It would be truly frightening to see how the average person would act.

I think your doctor seems really nice and has your best interests at heart, and is prepared to go the extra mile (metres) to the carpark, if he can't do home visits, instead of just palming you off to the nearest hospital.

All the best. I'm sure if you follow your doctors advice you will be ok. Try not to stress out about it, as difficult as that is.

Just off the phone to an old mate who has been given the same advice by his specialist.

I had a good day yesterday and Heather took me out Shopping, it felt good to get out of the house for once, now I'm back again stuck at home whether I like it or not.

You and me both mate. The MSM in the US are hyping up a "statement" from the CDC, saying that everyone should 'stay at home, indoors', linking to the CDCs website, knowing that the sheeple won't actually go and look. The CDC website actually says something completely different, advising people in communities with "confirmed multiple contamination: to take all reasonable precautions. Which is fairly normal language from the CDC, but the MSM, led by the New York Post, have blown it up into a full scale crisis. Ok, if it WAS a full scale crisis, the CDC would be the FIRST org to say so. Sheesh.
Imagine if a really bad virus long incubation period ever took hold that would making healthy people sick/dead..... It would be truly frightening to see how the average person would act.

Tom Clancy once wrote a book around this. IIRC it was called 'Executive Orders'. He postulated that a terror org created an airborne version of Ebola. Now, THAT would be a crisis.
Corona covers many forms of influenza. Covid-19 is just one of them. We'll survive it. I'm 66, so I'm right in the 'demographic'. I'll die one day, as will all of you, but I'll bet it won't be Covid-19 that gets me. i'll more likely die of starvation because of all the "morons" hoarding food and maybe lack of hygiene due to lack of bog roll.

Precisely what he shouldn't do. Mario should be out in the sun we have here atm, he should be doing what he always does, talking to his neighbours, being Mario.
Mario has health issues, as many of us know. What he needs, IMO, is normality, to be Mario.
Sure, I could be wrong, as I often am, but Mario and Heather will be OK through this, as will nearly all of us.
My mother, OTOH, is wishing the virus will visit soon. I guess that means more soup for morons.

I see the government has just changed the rules to allow video consultations via Skype, Facetime, WhatsAp etc, to be charged under the Medicare rebate, which is a good move. They should keep that permanently, it could help a lot of people, particularly for remote people or those who should stay home.

I read Rainbow 6 last year and that book involved a virus that was to be deployed at the Sydney Olympic Games.
It was interesting what the Rainbow team did to the terrorists in the end...

It's good, the govt has responded to the strategies put in place by the hospitals and doctors.
