Hi all I am after a workshop/maintenance manual for my 2010 2.7L D4, when I google it comes up with PDF files which is no problem I just don’t want to be wasting money buying one which is a pain in the butt trying to navigate through. Has anyone purchased one which they’re happy with? Or is their a hard copy version somewhere I can get my hands on? I remember the old Haynes books when I was younger unfortunately they seemed to have stopped at the D3
Thanks

Use the AULRO browser page, not app, and go to the store.

NO DONT. - there is a problem with the one Dave sells in the shop (I bought one), with multiple repeat pages in the pre-amble, and the referencing/page numbering system leaves a lot to be desired, even though there is some good info in there if you are happy to check over 7,000 pages.
I've told Dave, and he says he'll have a look at some stage.

Agree Dave's one is great if like me you are retired and patient and have time to search endlessly for stuff...and write down the relevant page nos...and print off heaps of pages to save time next time you need to find stuff.
At least its cheap.

Don’t you guys know how to use search in Acrobat?
Takes seconds to find what’s needed.

I use Dave's. It's big , but good. I simply write down the page numbers that apply to the 3.0l V6 diesel because that's what I have and click print to PDF and save them in chapters.
I've made about 35 chapters so far. Not working away anymore means I have less spare time to keep it going. I'll finish them one day.
I'm with tombie. Control +f will bring up the find screen. For the price you can't go wrong.

OK. For those of us with older versions, are you able to provide details of the latest version so we can ascertain whether it is worth buying again?
Or can you provide an upgrade path?

Hey Dave,
I have a 2011 D4 and I bought the manual from you in 2013 when I bought the car. Should I upgrade to the latest. As there are more manuals for those cars?
The vote of confidence is understated! That purchase is more valuable to me then the gap tool. Especially when I needed to pin out the engine harness recently.

Hi Dave. I bought mine in May 2019.
Would you happen to know if there have been any significant changes affecting 2010/2.7L?
Not your issue, BUT, even with Acrobat searching, not having any ID on the pages (if only to separate significant model/engine changes), still makes a search of 7000 pages a bit of a time consuming lottery.

7,000? Interesting. My Dave supplied Discovery_4_LR4_LA_2013_2014_Workshop_Manual has 4,486 pages. I modified the file to be text recognised (I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro which must be a decade old now) but I don't think it makes much difference.
You should be able to go direct from the Index line items to the linked page.

Nothing like the epic version I got in 2019, Might have to follow Josh and get an updated version that is actually useful.
at first glance, also seems to be light on for 2.7 stuff.
Also hard to understand why it would change so much in less than a year.

Hi all, I finally downloaded the link that from the AULRO Store where i bought my "new" manuals from, I can confirm Gav, there is plenty of 2.7L stuff in there and there are tabs down the side of the document that take you straight there.
Its so good im not going to keep sorting my old manual into chapters, ive already loaded this on the tablet that sleeps in the glovebox.
Best 16 bucks ive ever spent158817

Thanks Josh. The 2019 version I bought from Dave last year really is rubbish, and I'll go ahead and blow the budget like you and buy another.

When you say you have loaded it onto a tablet? How did you manage this? I have a Galaxy tablet running android although I can’t seem to find anything which reads iso files, with your photo it looks like you have it in a pdf, how did you manage this? I’m a little technologically illiterate

Yeah for sure, once you open on computer it shows a list of all the pdf files. Then just copy and paste on your tablet. With a galaxy tablet you should be able to just plug it into your computer via USB.
When you first plug the USB into the tablet, you will be able to pull the menu down from the very top of the screen and select the USB type, you need to pick the first option. I think it's called media transfer device.
The iso file mimics a cd so the computer thinks there is a disc in the drive. You just right click it and select "mount" and it'll show up as another drive, then it's just normal file transferring. Don't send the tablet the whole lot. Just what your car requires. Ie the correct date and engine range.
If you get stuck pm me and I'll send ya my phone number

Virtually the same as the one from Dave's Shop - 7,000 plus pages including mixed up pages of a Handbook at the front.
Apart from using Acrobat, very little ID support
