View Full Version : Out of their league

I went to a house yesterday to value it and in the driveway was a relatively new, shiny Landcruiser 100.
The lady looked out the door and saw my D3 and said:
"Is that a Landrover?? I would like one of those, but they're out of my league!!"
It's sad to think that some people don't think that they are worthy enough to be Landy owners and relegate themselves to second rate vehicles!;)

Too True.
BTW what does a shiny new LC 100 cost...I hasten to add that I am not at all tempted

as one of the guys said on overlander when stirring LX470,
"if you want to pay $120,000 for 10 year old technology, you go for it"
that pretty-well hits the nail on the head

Ah yes but from that list the one that's probably the cheapest model closest to the D3 TDV6 Auto would be:
4.2L Turbo Diesel 5 spd automatic from $75,500
So there's not much in it and she COULD have been a LR owner after all.

Thats it, and its much more fuel efficient and more comfortable to drive. Matt

Maybey we are all missing her point. It might not have been an issue of finances, but more a personal socio-cultural deficiency she felt in the presence of the D3. She IS a Toyota owner after all...
Or looking at it the other way, she might have just been being polite by attempting to flatter you.
