Looking for tips, guides or suggestions on how to replace the high pressure fuel sensor on a 2.7 TDV6 Discover 3?
Its right at the back of the engine bay and none of the spanners we have will reach and enable turning, sockets won’t go over plastic plug

Have you tried a crowfoot socket ie open end spanner with square drive to fit on socket extension.

I relaced mine and just used big shifter to crack the tightness, then it unscrews easy.

I wished i never did the replacement however as the supposedly new, same brand sensor was faulty and it caused me endless headache and $$$ before I put the old 1 back and the car ran normal again.

Isn’t this the sensor that nearly everyone replaces in the hope “it’s not a failing HPFP” to find it is?

This is a case of the plastic plug broken off - so actual physical damage is the reason

How'd you manage that? Unless....

Someone thought that they would install Roo Systems upgrade. Plug came off as soon as it was touched, plastic is really brittle and crumbles easily

So if the plug is cactus, cant you smash the rest of it off to get a socket on it? Doing it up will require either a crow foot spanner or a pipe wrench, given the limited space, this is a challenge in itself.
