I have a 2010 D4 which has the shading around the fuel/temp gauges.
I know it can be updated to the later display which doesn't have the shading and looks much better.
Anyone know exactly how? I do have a Nanocom.
Regards

I did it with my GAP IID tool. It has an included instrument cluster update for that.

After doing it on mine I can't see my oil level live while doing an oil change, there was a thread on here earlier that alerted me to that. I didn't realise until I did the update and read the thread. Not a big deal I've got a 5.7L measuring jug, just be warned you'll lose that function

Mine works fine so I’m not sure why you’re having an issue? I can do it as per normal (wait) or force it (bonnet open and key combo). The update hasn’t affected it

Can someone outline the cluster update (and any other useful ones) procedure for me. I have a GAP tool.

Pity the D4 dash is soo boring when compared to the RRs or Jags. I like the idea of swapping over to a more colourful and detailed Rangie dash as some have done per tube net.
The temp guage is also hard to read..my daughter just can understand the mix of bars...thinking the lower cold range bar is the actual temp😐

So you can still do the whole , bonnet up, engine off, IGN on, select oil reading and press cancel thing? And then it changes from full to where it is now???

Wait.. .what?
Is this to read the engine oil level prior to the 10 minute waiting time?

I have a print out in the glove box on how to do it. The car is at work with the wife. When she gets home I'll take a photo for you

This came from the shell lube guide when I first bought my disco. Doesn't seem to be on there anymore.
