Hi I have a 2015 disco 4 with 74,000 KLM on it I have done 5,000 KLM since I bought it and noticing an whining noise developing when driving ,I did not notice it when I bought it . Tyres are perreli scorpion plus at about 60 % tread left . Are these known for wheel bearings to go ?

A dull whine from the passenger seat or back seat location is an often reported problem.
Were your wife and children in the car at same time? (an oldie but a goldie)
Next try the wheel bearings by jacking up and rocking the wheel with hands at 9 and 3 o’clock then 12 and 6 o’clock looking for slop.
Next your getting into the prop shaft bearing or a diff needing more specialist diagnosis. Unusual but not impossible for your kms

Id go simple things first. Tyres. If bored place your spare on one corner at a time. and go for a drive. Each time. Check bearing movement, pressures are correct while your changing as above post. Very common tread block type sound. Sounds like your diff is going to drop out. May have some slight delamianition going on that may not to noticeable till rolling at speed.
Have not experienced on my disco but with other light weight front wheel drive cars. The rear tread blocks deform ever so slightly and hum away.
And rotate front to back while your at it. Have a good look at even tyre wear.
Of course it could be more serious but the above check will only cost you time.
good luck.

Check rear diff pinion seal area..mine had a loose pinion that destroyed the seal..was fixed under warranty at @70000ks.
I can hear a very slight whine from the rear (car is so damm quiet otherwise) which I was told is normal for the e locker diff. Mine is supercharged so that whine is often present😃
But I would suspect tyre noise over bearings at those ks....I'm not a fan of Pirelli tyres anyway. Maybe try playing with the pressures.

Did you resolve the whining noise?
Yes,all sorted, everywhere we go,the wife goes in her car,i go in the D4[bigrolf]
On a serious note,i saw a post somewhere,it was the HP fuel pump.
That if its engine noise.
Wheel bearing noise is more of a drone, like tyre noise.

Inspect the tyres for abnormal wear indicating that the alignment needs attention or the lower control arm bushes are sloppy.
