Captain Tom, you are a legend. I dips me lid.

I still had my Beret and a little BLINGon [biggrin] I stood to attention with a huge grin. His 100 laps was also very cool.

"That will make him the first centenarian to top the charts, having already broken the record for the oldest person to reach number one.

Sir Tom Jones was the previous record-holder, having been 68 when his Comic Relief cover of Islands In The Stream came out in 2009. The Welsh star was quick to congratulate his successor.
"Capt Moore, from one Tom to another, congratulations on beating my chart record," he said. "If I was going to lose to anybody, it's an honour to have lost to you, with all you have done raising money for the NHS.""

Talk about a rapid rise to glory ....................................... from Captain to Colonel and Knighthood and all within 3 months, got to be some sort of record, and couldn't be bestowed on a more deserving individual. :) His service in time of need is unparalleled. Gives a whole new new slant to "Age shall not weary them ....... "

I trust his future will be more rewarding than that of his namesake :)

I see the rumblings have started in the UK & probably not without foundation if one resides there.

1. How was Tom allowed to travel to Barbados with his entire-ish Family when it was not possible for other residents
to travel?

2. How was it possible to have his family all around him at the time when he passed away when others cannot?

3. Seems his daughter was a PR person on the Staff of the wonker PM so much of the publicity was down to her.

Good Questions

Now, don't shoot the messenger regardless of your personal opinions.

I baggsied his Hi Mileage Zimmer Frame, it's got to be worth a quid or two one day.

Although I'm in it's none of our business camp, I looked up the story. Right or wrong the story I read was this;

1. Tom travelled before the ban came in to place. He was a guest of the Barbados government, who paid for his family as well. While in Barbados, strict protocols were in place to keep him healthy. He did not contact COVID in Barbados or on the flight back, a testing regime before and after the holiday confirmed that. He contracted pneumonia after he came back, and caught COVID in hospital.

2 Tom was sent home, and his family and some nurses looked after him until his breathing needed hospital admission. It was while at home his family said goodbye. It is not said, but it appears Tom died alone in Hospital. Lets let Tom rest in peace.
