No. 7? Barry Sheene's? [bigsmile] Best I watch the video!
The bloke in WA to whom I sold our Yamaha RZ500 (which he had restored by a German chap) also had a Suzuki RG500 restored by the same bloke.
His wife didn't know about either bike. :D
Owner behind the RG:
160273
160274
Our RZ after restoration (me on the bike):
160275

Two of my Canberra mates are Suzuki two stroke nutters, one has an RG400 (Walter Wolf special) and an RG250, he grew up not far from Hokenheim.
I clicked him a link recently of Rainey and Schwantz dicing for the win and be replied "I was there!!" [emoji50][emoji23]

Well, where's the rest:spudnikserious:
I met Barry at Eastern Creek, nice bloke, I also met Kenny Roberts and contrary to what's been said about him and Barry he's another nice bloke and they were good friends, both great riders too, I would have been happy with half their talent.

I remember a school friend had an RG250, and one of his relatives had the RZ500. In my embarrassingly stupid early years of misunderstanding and underestimating 2 strokes... I made a comment about the performance "small " capacity engines..
It was only some years later when i bought my first one, a KDX200 , that i was totally converted 😊

I got to ride a real GP RG500 back in 1977, when I worked at the Suzuki dealer in the city.
It had arrived from Japan and they were having trouble getting it started. I was volunteered to get pushed out of the shop into Wentworth Ave and clutch it down the hill towards Elizabeth St, make a u-turn, and straight back to the shop.
Well, that all worked, but the cloud of blue smoke and the howl from 4 straight-through expansion chambers got the attention of someone, as the police arrived within minutes and followed the smoke trail into the shop.
Some very quick talk from the boss to the police, plus the fact we serviced their bikes got me off the hook [emoji23]

Ahh such days of innocence!
