Gday All,

I am wondering if anyone has an old hitachi or Dunlop compressor lying around they don't want or is not repairable. I have a reasonable new compressor that has blown out the base of the canister and I cant seem to find any advertised as part of rebuild kits . 160327

The pic shows the split I a talking about . I am happy to pay a fair price plus any postage costs to Darwin.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure I have a hitachi one in the shed you can have for nothing but I imagine post wouldn't be cheap to the NT. PM me if interested.

You've pro'ly thought of this already but try your local LR garage or Indy, they might have an old one lying around.

Glad to hear it, hope you’re putting through a full compressor rebuild kit too (piston seal, o rings, filters and desiccant. Never seen one fail there, what happened?

Gday Eric,

No idea why it failed there , only warning something was wrong was the orange idiot light on the dash and the centre message screen saying Normal height only. plugged in hawkeye and the code was faulty or non function compressor , or something like that. It would still run on start up but only for about 5-10 secs then it would shut off and the orange idiot light on the dash would light up.

I did check power, but as it would run I basically went straight in and removed the compressor. Having only installed that compressor new about 3 yrs ago I was actually expecting 1 of the hoses to have come loose or split , I certainly wasn't expecting to see the arse blown out of the dryer like that. My Original compressor suffered from the split in the cap between the 2 air lines and upon removal I bought the rebuild kit and the metal cap and done a full rebuild on it , so that was put back in and will remain. I only plan to install the new dryer housing and fill with new beads as it has lost some. I don't plan on rebuilding it .
