Brains trust, the girl is up for a new set of rear stoppers. 1x rotor is grooved so going to replace. Anyone have the low down on rotor & pads to be obtained locally? I would go Island4x4 or other but it seems like people aren't really shipping to AUS currently.
Was looking at:
DBA DBA2097 @ $252 a pair
Bendix Rear Pads DB1397 @ $80
Wear sensor @ $10
Seems somewhat expensive for OE aftermarket rotors TBH, maybe the price is right? If anyone has some feedback would be appreciated.
PS. Also keen to refresh the brake fluid at some stage, so if anyone has any pointers or a DIY article i can review that would be helpful :)

I thought those prices for those products looked cheap.

Yeah, looks very good price wise IMO too. You could get cheap no name rotors from OS and save $50 but why bother?

Check out Sparesbox.i bought front Bendix pads for the D4 for 98 bucks delivered...vs 220 at Repco!! Similarly filters x 4 for oil..air(2 of)..cabin cost 112 vs over 300 bucks at Ripco.

Thanks mate, I do run an eyeball last sparesbox when looking for parts. I find generally my super cheap trade account or Automotive Superstore wins out. Sparesbox do have a really great range though! Repco is a non thing for me haha

Have you confirmed the DBA part number?
You prompted me to check part numbers for my L322 3.6tdv8 (F: 2006/R: 2095)
An online catalogue I was looking at indicates that rear disc is for a 4.2SC & Jag 4.4 v8(DB2097) rather than a BMW 4.4 L322 (DB2093).

Hey rar110, I did, i checked on the dba parts finder:
DBA PART FINDER – Performance brake disc rotors and brake pads | Disc Brakes Australia (https://www.dba.com.au/products/catalogue/online-catalogue/)
I opted for the vented 354mm as i measured the current ones on there, I hope its right! I should check the thickness, solid vs vented?

Thanks, interesting. I used that catalogue to go through a few different models and some surprising variation in rotor diameter.
I’ll have to put a tape across my rear rotors to see what’s there now.

I had just shot through an order just before you sent that last message, so I had a mad rush to double check everything!
Thickness:
DBA 2097 (vented) = 20mm
DBA 2093 (solid) = 12mm
I currently have solid so this might be an issue you think?

20mm thickness sounds right, but not 12mm. I don’t think it’s an issue going from solid to vented.

Interestingly enough, I've just got off the chat with Auto Superstore. They rang DBA and confirmed the type for the rears is the 12mm solid variety, DBA2093. I did have a gander at the rears and they are defs solid.....
AS didn't stock them, so i upgraded w/ discount to the DBA42093S @ $300 for the pair delivered.
If these dont fit, I'm buying a horse!
I might look at solid -> vented at a later stage, i dont want to have to get new calipers or whatever if the discs are too thick... I dont know a whole heap about it yet.

I’ll put the verniers over my rear rotors tonight to check thickness. Just for interest, as it’s not the same L322 as yours.

I couldn’t get the vernier’s in past the shield, but my L322 rear rotors feel about 12mm.
I’ve never looked at the front rotors closely. They are brembo callipers and rotors are ventilated (two disc) with about 30mm total width incl gap between the two discs.

12mm doesn’t sound like much does it! Good to know though thanks. Lucky it was called out, might have been in a right pickle otherwise!

I doubt you could interchange solid and vented disc into the same callipers. I don’t have proof for that, just think it is a lot of additional travel for the pistons to make up for difference.
