Hi all,
I have a problem with my drivers door not locking the door when the Lock button is pressed...
Bit of back ground of what started it and what I have tried:
Hired a trailer, the standard trailer symbol didn’t come up ( the one where you indicate I know the D2 has it, I’m not sure if the D4 has it or not so wasn’t to worried) when I arrived home I went to lock the vehicle and the indicators didn’t do the little dance they do when the car locks but instead the horn beeped. On further inspection I realised the drivers door hasn’t locked, all the other doors and boot had but not the drivers. I tried using the spare key...no luck. I can lock the whole vehicle if I am inside and press the switch ( the one on the handle, not the buttons) if I press the lock button (the one with the lock symbol on the inside of door) it doesn’t lock the car. I have been told to disconnect battery and see if that will reset it but if I do this will I need a radio code?

Thanks In advance for the help

Probably just a faulty door lock actuator. It is a common issue.

Guessing not if the door locks with the inside button?

If you get a horn beep, it thinks something is open. Either tail gate, bonnet or a door. For me it was the bonnet

If all doors except the drivers door are locking - but the drivers door can be locked from inside using the manual push button but not when using the central locking buttons, then it would most likely be a faulty door lock actuator not seating properly when using the central locking.

Can also present itself as an intermittent type fault - sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. If you lock then immediately unlock and re-lock (without opening the door in between) it will often lock properly on the second activation.

Yep, re-read OP and agree. Note to self, read carefully before posting. May have this a mental note from previous occasions....[tonguewink]

Check your tailgate isn’t just off latched.

Won’t do anything if it thinks it’s open.

Thanks all, all doors were closed properly and it didn’t work earlier. I tried the quick lock while it was still unlocking and wah lah locked no worries! Unlocked again and let it do the process completely waited 15 seconds pressed lock and work as if there had been no problem in the first place. Have had no dramas since, thanks again all
