Hello all
Finally received my gearbox back from ol' mate Alan in Gympie. Invoice looks like it it is nearly all new inside. Looks schmick too. So on to Engine.
I am slowly pulling down ol' fella's motor. Not happy with what I am finding. While I ensured that the engine would turn, I neglected to check the cooling system. Way back when................radiator and hoses were knackered, I didn't go any further than that Ummmmm Duh! (More so on Sunny Coast)
Anyway long story short, everything aft of the water pump and thermostat housing has had to be dug out. Water pump shaft corroded way and impeller had to be dug out as well. I am hoping that there is still a facility around the Sunny Coast/ Gympie which can clean out all water and oil galleries and perhaps pressure test the block??? More on that later, not the real reason I am here.
I note that in the parts diagram for the Block there are two "water pipes" items 26 and 27 respectively, P/nos 231220 and 231221.
Are these pipes serviceable/removable, are they essential, importantly might they be available?
My block is a 3 large 1 small welch plug block.....................and if anyone is aware of facility for "cleaning" ye olde cast iron blocks and heads North of Brisbane to Gympie, please advise. [bigsmile1]
Cheers
