In the corner of my windscreen there is info for the windscreen that is fitted ,
CCC XJG
E1 Laminated
Doj 563 AS! M.658
43R-001530 .
All the other windows have Pilkington stamped on , Would this indicate the windscreen has been changed out at sometime for a generic and not OEM .

Yes 😎
Genuine is over 750 bucks fitted...Chinese eg FY is 450 fitted..so you can see which one the insurance will go for. My insurance co refused to fit genuine. Mind you JLR use Chinese glass anyway..some of which might even be made in the USA.

..oh and I think that is XYG..the cheaper of the Chinese glass makers. FY acoustic is the one to go for. BTW the Hobart LR dealer fits FY glass. I could not get genuines anywhere in Aus at the time so went for FY..been good so far.

Problem with FY (Fuyao) and the other aftermarket glass that I have see is that the surface scratches up much more easily.
Not too bad if used mostly urban, however I have seen them scratch up far easier, and then at night the vision clarity starts to degrade.
I made sure my policy covers Genuine glass.

My windscreen got cracked about 6 months ago and the crack spread from the bottom gradually. RACWA didn't want to put in an OME screen but changed their mind when I told them of the other insurances I had with them. I pay to have proper replacement repairs not junk from China or elsewhere.

Agree..best to fit genuine..I wanted too but corona virus thought otherwise as glass supplies dried up. There was only 3 windscreens in Aus that suited my car at the time...and the car was illegal...
Having said that..the FY acoustic glass is thicker than the original...the installer showed me...so the car is a bit quieter. Oh and the rain sensor is definitely working better..it does not trigger the wipers randomly any more..not sure why..maybe the new glass vs old scratched glass...
Genuine next time/year tho☺

Fuyao Group Won the Jaguar Land Rover Global Supplier Excellence Award Gold Award2018-05-16The award is Jaguar Rand Rover’s highest honor to its global suppliers and its recognition of Fuyao’s innovative products and brand.
Er it seems that FY is the OEM supplier.

They’re also an OEM supplier to Audi.
For the products built and sold in China (same for JLR)
My replacement screen and the original factory unit are both Pilkington.

Mine was replaced at Novus Glass in Malaga by the RACWA. There was a problem with the rain sensor but they came out to my place and replaced the unit. No problems since
