Tub is a little short to sleep in. Have to leave the tail gate open to stretch out fully in mine.

There's a fella (Noel) in the LROC Brisbane who has a trailer of the sort you mention which he tows behind his 130HCPU. Makes for a great looking rig - will see if I can dig up any pics but don;t hold your breath.

He uses it as sleeping quarters for his kids, so he and his wife get some peace and quiet in the tent. Also the trailer has heaps of room for storing firewood, water, and all sorts of goodies.

I do hope you are not going to destroy an army trailer for this project - I'm sure any number of the REMLR boys would like the trailer or trailer chassis !

hey vladtepes, mate know noel i'm in the brissy L/R club with him, haven't made it to a meeting to ask him on his set-up.

not going to destroy a army trailer, only got the chassis/frame so just have to weld on mounts. the guy i bought it off only had that as he was going to turn it into a chippy trailer. slowly but surely (the build up)

mate i'm yet to put a roof top camper on it, gas bottles, maybe electric brakes, fluros inside, one day a cradle for a fridge, modify back tailgate to swing open and have that as my cooking area, put some shockies on her, get a wider axle so it sits in the same track as my 90 (100mm to narrow at the moment), more tool boxes and sliding drawers in all the little holes under it, i think it'll be getting built for a while yet, every time i look at it i find another thing i can do to it...

but at the moment i'm just happy rolling the swag out in the back.

anyway, it's lookin great - I wonder if there are any HCPU trays about...

yeah i gotta take out out a few leaves! theres 10 or 11 in there, way to stiff. have to run the tyres at 12Psi to stop the bounce! that and putting some baby shocks on is the next move.

sleeping room, i have to fold down the tailgate to fit, but when i put roof top number on there will be slight overhang fron and rear, to fit normal size on.

tanks are one poly for water, one steel for diesel, both about 75ish Litres

I just bought an ex army trailer and have had second thoughts about hacking into the original body. Mine has a canvas (camoflage) canopy and tube frame, which is extendable up and out the rear. If anyone is interested I may part with the canopy and frame and maybe even the tray body (aluminium). I will be building a hard floor camper tent like on the Cub Campers flip back tent, wheels and original army tyres are going as well. I would be interested to hear from anyone that has done this type of camper conversion. I will see if I can get some pics up.
Tow vehicle is a 93 Disco with a 2003 4 Litre V8 petrol with the 3.5L fuel system, except for Holden HSV Quad Squirter HP Injectors, has a mild Stage 1 cam, Extractors, 2 1/2" exhaust. ZF 4 speed Auto, 4.11 Diffs with ARB Lockers front and rear, 110 Swivel housings and joints, Maxi-Drive axles and flanges F&R, ARB front and rear bars, 12000lb winch, AVM front Bash Plate, Diff guards, ARB Rock slider side steps, 135Litre fuel tank (really needs it), Guards and doors cut and fitted with fibreglass flares to suit 35's, 31x10.5x15's presently fitted, 2" OME lift Springs, Bilstein Shocks and Dampener, Paratus drivers seat, Cargo Barrier and Cupboards with fridge slide, Anderson Plugs for trailer, Dual Batteries. About to fit some 33"'s and have a Unichip fitted and am looking at a LPG setup, maybe with the LPG tank in the trailer. Any comments you have would be appreciated, Regards Frank.
