Well today is a sad day and I’ve sold my L322 MY10 Vogue Luxury.
It’s making a new home in Canberra so will hopefully get some longer runs.
I really wanted to love the new defender but I think the pricing is a touch high for the features.
Maybe I’m misjudging it. For the model I’d want with extras it would be around $125k. Plus hard to come by at the moment and any model you order is petrol only.
Not that I have anything against petrol and like the sound of the P400 engine.
I’ve signed up for a 2020 VW Touareg Premium with innovison and sound and comfort pack instead. Under $100k
It’s on a 4 year business loan so won’t be lurking around for a while.
I’m sure I’ll be back again.
If anyone wants to know what they are like I’ll let you know once I’ve gotten it.
Cheers
Wade

I’m only a baby in the Land Rover world.
Disco 4, 2004 90 then vogue.
10 years of Land Rover ownership.
Ever since I was a kid and admired the series cars.
I will definitely be back. I’d say once the 4 years is done with the VW I’ll see how the new defender has morphed and been fine tuned then consider it.

Let us know how the Tourag goes.... whats good/bad, etc.
Was thinking of going for one of them until I saw the $$$$$ they wanted for them.
I saw a video of them in the Morrocan desert when they released them and liked them then.
cheers

Thanks Irubix,
5 years unlimited warranty is pretty good.

Will do Disco Gazza,
I’m excited to see if I really love.
My only concern is lack of soul compared to Landrover.
But who knows.
I might lurk on some VW forums for a few years then come back.

This is on my list to replace the D5 next year....maybe.
Any ideas about replacing the self-inflating (I think) space saver spare with a full size?

I’ll let you know once I receive it if it looks like it can be swapped and has space.

So the space where the space saver is looks like this:
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200722/9dc4af82e4d5d95d1e65b91726465614.jpg
The max diameter is approx 685mm with the sub box in place.
Max width is approx 185mm.
My guess is any spares would have to be outside the car if you want a full size.
