Hi guys,
After recently replacing my D4 cranking battery with an SSB and then installing a new aux battery in my D4 with an SSB, I'm now looking to replace my Jayco Swan Outback camper battery (currently Fullriver 120Ah battery in my Jayco). I haven't used my camper for a while and so charged it up with my CTEK and then ran a load test on it. It didn't go well and within 1hr the battery voltage was below 12V. Shame, as I've got 160W of solar on the roof on my camper which should maintain the battery health, but I guess the battery has probably been in there for ~5 years. My previous Fullriver batteries have been awesome and lasted 7+ years easily.
Anyway, going up to Karijini National Park for 2 weeks shortly so I'm going to replace the camper battery to be sure.
A replacement like for like Fullriver 120Ah is $453.
An alternative replacement, a Bosch BAC12-120Ah is $299.
[for context, I've got 160w solar on roof of camper, and two 200w solar blankets, so a total of 560w of solar. One 120Ah battery in van and aux in my tug. Running Evakool fridge, the led lights and a CPAP machine at night]
Thoughts on the Fullriver $$ vs Bosch vs ??? appreciated.
I'm tempted to go with the cheaper Bosch but unsure of quality or longevity compared to the excellent performance of my previous Fullrivers.
Thanks
