Gentlemen,
I am considering installing a 123 Ignition Distributor, as I have had great success with them on my Porsche 911T and my Mercedes 190SL. These are electronic distributors with programmable or selectable advance curves. The one to suit our vehicles can be found locally at 123-GB-4-R-V | 123Ignition Australia (https://www.123ignition.com.au/product/123-gb-4-r-v/)

There are a bit costly, but they replace the old Lucas distributor entirely, thus taking away any concerns about wear and tear. I have found the 123 system to completely bullet proof, easy to install and super reliable. On the Porsche and the 190SL, I paired that with a Multi-spark ignition system (MSD), cave me intent start every time.

Has anyone installed one of these and can share their experiences about which advance curve set suits the characteristics of our engines?

regards
Jeff

No experience on a Series 1 but I had one on another vehicle - it was not programmable and you just selected one of 16 programs in the dizzy. Easily set up but I had to remove mine on advice of my tuner as it was all over the place and none of the programs was suitable.

However they are often fitted to 6 cylinder Jags and apparently work really well.

Worked an absolute treat on my Mercedes 190SL (4 cylinder 1.9 litre) so would have thought it would work well on a Series 1.
I'll do some research on the advance curves and see watch looks to be he closest match.
