Hi all, on a previous thread I proposed a group buy of Tuff-Rok mud flaps from the UK manufacturer. I have started this thread for better exposure. As quoted in the other thread I contacted Tuff Rok and have copied a section of their answer below

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your message.

Please can you tell me how many sets will be involved?

What we can do is reduce £10 off each set upto 5 qty vehicles.

£15 off for 6 to 15 vehicles.

£25 off for 15 qty onwards.

Normal lead time is 5 days from Payment.

We manufacture each vehicle set to order.

So, if you go to the web site here Discovery 4 full MudFlap set 2009-2016 | Tuff-Rok (https://www.tuff-rok.com/product-page/discovery-4-full-mudflap-set-2009-2016) you will see there are some options as far as colour and logo is concerned, what colour mud flaps, what logo, what colour of the logo.

Please PM me with your name, email, phone and your choice as well (colour and logo).

As per previous thread we are at 5 already, it would be great to get to 15+ and the £25 off, which will save us all quite a bit.

From the previous post Briar said "OK, Tuff Rok mudflaps arrived today. Easy to fit. A bit more than half the thickness of thick conveyor belt, about 6mm I reckon. I do like how they cover the full width of the tyre. About 1 hour to fit. Pics show what you get. $138 cost from manufacturer. $68 shipping. Took a month to get here from UK"

This is my proposal (keeping it simple) based on reaching the 15+ the price of the mud flaps will be £50, let's say $100 as a starting point. This process will close on 16th July and I will place the order on 17th July.

When you PM me I with your details I will send you my bank account details and you transfer $100 to me.
I will place the order and cover freight costs at what ever the exchange rate is at the time.
When the mud flaps arrive I will send everyone a copy of the bank transfer, the calculated cost of the mudflaps per person (mud flaps final price based on discount, freight, import duty, GST and exchange rate) and then include forwarding freight to your home address. You send me the balance and I send you the mud flaps.

Simples ...... Any worries???

BTW, I know there is a section for group buys, in the initial instance I posted here to get some exposure as I don't think the group buys section is that widely read.

Hi all, OK so I inquired with Tuff Rok about the versions of Black listed on the web site, and it's Gloss, Satin or Matt, so if black is your choice for your mud flaps please stipulate which version.

Also, Tuff Rok have told me that if you want a Land Rover logo it will cost £10 / set (about $20) so if that is what you want please let me know. But, this will be an individual set price increase not a group price increase. For example, as per the original post, if we get to the magic 15 sets (not confident at the moment looking more like £15 off but anyway) then the group price is £50 / set plus freight/GST/Duty/exchange rate variation divided equally between the group members. If you order the Land Rover Logo your base price will be £60 plus fixed cost of freight (1 equal share of freight cost) but your GST and Import Duty component will also be higher because your purchase price is higher.

Anyway as I asked earlier, PM me with name/address/phone/email and Mud Flap colour selection including Logo (or not) and logo colour, the clock is ticking.[thumbsupbig]

Hi all, well we are up to 11, so the magic 15 seems tantalisingly close.

Did a check on Sendle for expected shipping costs and based on the info below from Briar it should fall into the 5kg and 20L package size, for National delivery $15.95.

If anyone else wants to do some hunting around for better shipping rates please feel free and let me know.

The weight as 3.0 kg. The package size in mm was about:

Length – 450mm
Width – 280mm
Thickness – 22mm

By coincidence I’m down in Wagga at the moment and yesterday in the car park at Kmart was an off white D3 that had these on it in black with white writing. Owner wasn’t around so I could not talk to them, but I had a bit of a sticky beak and they look really good quality, thicker than I was expecting.

Hi Ian, if you look at the Tuff Roc web site (link in first post) you can see the versions shown for D3 and D4, they look identical, another member with a D3 has also ordered based on this. So, by all means, look at the first post for the instructions and away you go.

Hi Veebs, if you look at the Tuff Rok web site from the link in the first post there are 3 "Black" radio buttons so I asked Tuff Rok what the three blacks were and their reply was Matt, Satin and Gloss which I posted in #4. So the logo colour black I took to be gloss, but I can confirm with them. Also from an earlier email Tuff Rok told me that they bespoke manufacture, so I would not think a gloss black logo would be a problem if the black shown in the logo colour pallet was one of the other options. A bit presumptive of me I know, so I will ask the question............stay tuned.

By the way, we are officially at 13 and waiting on 3 deposits, so we are over the line. I originally had a closing date of 16th July but unless there is objection otherwise I will bring that back a couple of days to the 14th and place the order as soon as all deposits are confirmed after that.

Nuts, looks like exactly the product I need at exactly the wrong time. Heading off on a trip at the end of next week, and I've just taken delivery of D1 and Defender mud flaps to fashion in to shape as per other threads around here. Let us know how these turn out and if my first try is a disaster I might have these as an alternative.

Arrived today after razzing the freight co....fitted in less than an hour...easy job but suggest maybe using nut and bolt on rear inner fixing point rather than the self tapper through the guard liner on the D4.

They're Stealth Grey with the Land Rover logo in Light Grey. When I unpacked them I thought the colour might be a bit light but they look good on.

Peter did a huge amount of work to make this happen in the original group buy, including funding up front IIRC, arranging postage to various areas of Oz and ordering all the various versions that people wanted.

A great outcome and they are excellent goods, but it wouldn't have hapapned without Peter's hard work. So whoever takes it on be prepared and pick Peter's brains

Unfortunately after speaking to Peter I’ve decided that I don’t have enough time to dedicate to this buy. My wife and I work shift work, kids, out of school kids activities and other commitments make me too time poor.

Not everyone’s cup of tea (mud flap) but I had a chuckle
I thought I’d help out the young fella and decked out my trailers with them
A few of my good friends have the same sense of humour and have added them to their utes
