Hi All
I had my car serviced at around the 122k mark which included a full service plus replacementof the transmission fluid (not cheap) by a well know Land Rover indie about 30kms from me.

I'm now looking to get another service done for the 130k service for which I have been qouted $750, but when I looked at the service history on the osh.landrover.com/service-history site, I cannot see that this service has been recorded.

My question is are these records only updated by Land Rover dealers or can independants update them?

regards
John

Lazy dealer...mine had 2 years worth missing...I emailed them...no reply..but record was updated soon after.

How accurate is the record.???..well who knows as they prolly just sketched it in😞

It certainly does not state work that the previous owner told me was done...so I basically ignored it!

I get my indie to fill in the book and I keep the receipts and invoices which detail what was done in a folder. Much easier to show future purchasers. It shows you care about your car :-)

I had to chase the dealer to update a number of times over the 5 year warranty period (extended warranty). When it came out of warranty I printed off the list from the LR site and keep that and my indie's log book as well as all the invoices for both dealer and indy.

Always good to have a record of what's been done.

Yep. Keep the invoices. Means you paid for the work, not that the dealer necessarily did it, as I discovered. Fortunately a minor issue, but I was very ****ed off.
Trust my Indie far more.

Totally agree. Never could be certain things were done :)

Only dealers or ‘authorised’ repairers.

I was told that Indies can access the LR Servic History site but they have to pay a high fee to do so. I guess to keep costs down many (most/all) dont. I do my own services inbetween the yearly/26K scheduled services, and get the Indy to do the main ones. As such my invoices are only 20K to 26K apart, depending on how I drive and if I am towing or not. I have kept the receipts for the oil I buy from Supercheap and the invoices for filters from All 4x4, so at least a prospective purchaser, if I sell private, will know I have done the inbetween oil and filter changes.
