Anyone had any luck locating new brushes for p38a blowers?
I read they are 9x8mm x 16mm long.

These are the right cross section but a little long but should be OK with a trim (and in Australia):

How hard is to cut a carbon brush? I thought they would just shatter.

Sandpaper...flat, to trim to size, then lay a bit of 180 grit on the copper commutator and work the brush horizontally to put a matching curve in the end.

Thanks for that, I hand filed the brushes and although I don't think I got the radius quite right, they run and I sure they will bed in quickly.
