Gentlemen,
I'm sure this has been discussed on various occasions, but times do change, so looking for some advice on engine parts suppliers for the rebuild of my '53 Series 1, 2 Litre spread bore. I'm aware of local sources, such as Series One Shop and the terrific service provided by them, Auto Surplus, Allfour, but many others only carry parts for Series 2 and onwards models.

DingoCroft and Craddock in the UK have very comprehensive ranges of parts, but a recent post on this forum flagged delivery issues from Craddock as a major concern. Buying from overseas can also get frighteningly costly, with poor exchange rates, high freight costs, credit card currency charges and the dreaded 25% import duty if you dare step over the $1,000 point. Plus delivery with the Coronavirus can take many weeks.

So for 2 litre normal engine parts, can your share you favourite places to shop or your recommendations?

Many thanks
Jeff

I've emailed Cox and Turner Engineering a number of times over recent months asking for prices and availability, but am yet to receive any response at all from them.
Perhaps they need to be added to the Unreliable UK supplier list as well.

Try again, some of the emails ended up in spam and they have been great to deal with once sorted. m

I have purchased from the UK over some time, the suppliers mentioned and others, my advice is call them and talk on the phone not email and you will not only save money and time but get good information at the same time call costs are stuff all.
